Every day...

...I look in this face and I am amazed at how quickly she is growing up. She's not a baby anymore.

I do not worry about her, because she is SO smart.

I do not worry about her, because she is so compassionate.

I do not worry about her, because she is so beautiful.

I do not worry about her, because she is so strong.

I do not worry about her, because she is so thoughtful.

I worry about her, because although it seems she does, she does not truly know all of this for herself.

Shout out to the NYC!

I've been having several "email conversations" lately with an old friend of mine, Chris (his blog link is on the left), who is dreadfully far away in New York. It's made me realize 2 things (okay, maybe more than that, but those others aren't the point of this post):

1. I really miss him. I've known him for *cough* years, since we were mere kids essentially, and he ALWAYS knew how to make me laugh and is the most sincere, sympathetic listener.

2. I really miss having friends. Real, actual, call all the time friends. I think I've gotten so caught up in being an adult and parent that I've forgotten how that feels. That is is actually necessary to surround yourself with people who make you happy, who enrich your daily existence.

If I had to sit down, here and now, today, and count my friends...well...I don't think it would take long. Planning to change that soon, I hope.

HUH?

Ummmmm...I just realized that my blog header shows up twice over there <-----

Wonder how long it's been doing that?

I'll have to fix it later.

Hmmmm...

Hmmmmm...

I just read this on another blog. It is a quote by CS Lewis.

"There is someone I love, even though I don’t approve of what he does. There is someone I accept, though some of his thoughts and actions revolt me. There is someone I forgive, though he hurts the people I love the most. That person is me. There are plenty of things I do that I don’t like, but if I can love myself without approving all I do, I can also love others without approving of all they do."
